Self-Compassion

A 6-week Experiential Workshop for Women

Wednesdays, May 6 – June 10, 2026

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Wilson House Studio, 519 Dundas Street East, Whitby, Ontario

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to be critical of ourselves just to get through and keep up with the pace of life.

Join a small circle of women for six sessions of mindfulness, compassion, and meaningful connection as we learn new, gentler ways of being with ourselves.

Limited group size to maintain a supportive experience.

A space for women to slow down, reconnect, and care for themselves

If your inner voice is harsh, you feel constantly “on,” or you find yourself giving more care to others than you do to yourself, this space might be for you.

Join us for a six-week experiential workshop designed to help you slow down, tend to yourself, and begin relating to your inner world in a new way - one rooted in compassion, not criticism.

Through mindfulness meditation, gentle movement, and reflective sharing, we’ll explore practices that cultivate:

  • self-awareness

  • self-kindness

  • emotional resilience

  • compassion for ourselves and others

Why this work matters:

When your inner world is critical or pressured, you might notice:

  • overthinking or second-guessing yourself

  • difficulty resting without guilt

  • feeling like you’re never doing enough

  • being hard on yourself when things don’t go as planned

This work helps you build a different relationship with yourself that supports:

  • greater ease and steadiness

  • more self-trust and clarity

  • the ability to pause instead of push through

  • a deeper sense of connection to self and others

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

This workshop integrates mindfulness, embodiment, and group connection to help you develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself. Together we will:

Cultivate mindfulness

Develop skills to observe your thoughts and feelings without judgment, creating space for clarity and peace.

Integrate practices into daily life

Discover practical ways to bring self-compassion into your everyday routines and relationships.

Practice embodied self-kindness

Engage in guided meditations and somatic practices that help you respond to difficult thoughts and emotions with warmth and understanding.

Connect in community

Share and learn with other women in a supportive, nurturing environment that reduces isolation and deepens shared humanity.

Many participants will find these practices especially helpful if they spend much of their time caring for others, whether personally or professionally.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE

Each week builds on the previous one, creating a gradual and supportive learning experience.

Our 6-Week Journey

Week One

Mindfulness

  • Week One invites participants into a grounded, experiential introduction to embodied mindful self-compassion. Through guided meditations like “Developing an Embodied Presence” and “The Sacred Pause,” reflective discussion, and meaningful connection, participants begin cultivating mindfulness, self-compassion, common humanity, and embodiment in real time. Inspired by the teachings of Kristin Neff, Jon Kabat-Zinn, and Tara Brach, this opening session lays the foundation for reducing burnout, building resilience, and strengthening the mind-body connection. Come as you are and join a supportive community dedicated to practicing presence, deepening self-awareness, and fostering a more compassionate way of living, personally and professionally.

Mindful Self-Compassion

Week TWO

  • Week Two deepens the journey by transforming self-compassion from a concept into lived experience. Through compassionate movement, myth-busting discussions inspired by the work of Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, and powerful partner exercises, participants explore how they relate to themselves in moments of struggle. The Buddhist teaching of the “Two Arrows” parable illuminates how we can reduce unnecessary suffering by softening self-criticism and shame. This experiential session offers practical tools to quiet the inner critic, strengthen resilience, and cultivate a kinder, more courageous inner voice, so you can show up more fully in both your personal and professional life.

Week THREE

Embodied Loving-Kindness

  • Week Three invites you to deepen your practice by turning compassion into a fully felt, lived experience. Through mindful embodied movement, reflective inquiry, and loving-kindness meditation inspired by the work of Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, participants explore the powerful question: What do I truly need? This experiential session guides you in discovering personalized loving-kindness phrases, softening the inner critic, and cultivating warmth toward yourself in moments of stress or self-doubt. By connecting mind, body, and heart, you’ll learn practical tools to embody kindness in daily life, strengthening resilience, honouring your needs, and expanding compassion for both yourself and others.

Week FOUR

Radical Acceptance

  • Week Four invites you to meet life - and yourself - exactly as you are. Drawing on the teachings of Tara Brach and the transformative RAIN practice (Recognize, Allow, Investigate, Nurture), this experiential session explores how resistance and self-judgment amplify suffering, and how compassionate presence softens it. Through guided meditation, reflective inquiry, and meaningful group dialogue, participants learn to release the “second arrow” of self-criticism and cultivate courageous acceptance in both personal and professional life. For participants navigating burnout, imposter syndrome, and high expectations, this week offers practical tools to foster resilience, emotional balance, and sustainable self-trust.

Week FIVE

Redefining Self-Care

  • Week Five invites you to move beyond surface-level wellness and reconnect self-care to self-love, self-compassion, and embodied awareness. Drawing from practices in The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, this experiential session explores burnout, boundaries, and the courage to honour your real needs. Through guided reflection, self-appreciation meditation, and meaningful dialogue, participants examine what has been missing, and what it truly means to care for themselves in sustainable, values-aligned ways. For participants who are helping professionals, this week offers practical and emotional tools to cultivate resilience, protect your energy, and redefine self-care as a daily act of radical self-love in life and work.

Week Six

Continuing the Journey

  • Week Six is a powerful closing session that integrates everything you’ve explored: embodiment, mindfulness, self-compassion, and radical acceptance. Through a guided meditation inspired by Tara Brach and reflective exercises drawn from the work of Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, participants are invited to explore identity, awareness, and compassionate presence in a deeply personal way. This session creates space to reflect on meaningful insights from the past five weeks and to commit to sustainable, values-aligned practices moving forward. With intentional time for connection, community-building, and open sanctuary, Week Six honours both closure and continuation. Leave grounded, inspired, and equipped to carry this work into your daily life - with clarity, commitment, and compassion.
