My Approach

Sometimes we know that something isn’t quite working, but we don’t necessarily know why or where to begin. You might feel overwhelmed, caught in familiar patterns, put enormous pressure on yourself, or feel disconnected from who you are and what you need. You don’t have to arrive at therapy with the right words or a neat explanation. We can start with what you do know and get curious about the rest together.

I don’t believe there is one “right” way to do therapy. We are shaped by different experiences, relationships, identities, cultures, and ways of moving through the world, so our work should be just as individual. At the heart of my approach is genuine human connection and getting to know you as a whole person, not simply the problem that brought you through the door. All parts of who you are are welcome here, and I approach them with openness and cultural humility.

Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with me?” I invite us to wonder, “Why might this make sense?” The parts of us that worry, strive for perfection, shut down, or work overtime to keep others happy often learned to do so for a reason. Together, we can explore what may be underneath these patterns and whether you still need them to work quite so hard. Sometimes that means slowing down and going deeper, while other times a practical strategy or concrete next step might be more helpful.

Most importantly, I don’t want therapy to become another place where you feel like you have to perform. You don’t need to have everything figured out or package your story neatly. You can show up as you are, and we’ll start there.

On A Personal Note

Movement has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up dancing and I think it will always feel a little like a second language to me. These days, I also love yoga, Pilates, and walks through the forest, and I have a longstanding fascination with the connection between our minds and bodies.

I’m endlessly curious and a bit of a nerd at heart. I love learning about whatever has caught my interest lately, usually with music playing in the background. My playlists are all over the place, but I have a particular love for indie folk.

I'm also learning to appreciate slowing down and letting things be simple sometimes. I'm happiest spending time with my family and friends, getting outside, or having a cozy evening at home with a good cup of tea. I'm sentimental at heart, terrible at cooking, and very happy when the people I love are all in one place.
