A Place To Heal.

To Grow.

To Be Human.

Human-first psychotherapy for individuals & couples | In-person (durham region) | virtual (ontario)

What we mean by “human-first”:

Simply put, it’s a way of working that sees you as a whole person, not a set of symptoms, and your therapist as a human being, not a blank slate.

Our philosophy is that healing happens in relationships. Being human-first means we prioritize safe connection and relationships as the foundation of healing, and it’s at the heart of all we do.

“Relationships are the agents of change and the most powerful therapy is human love.”

— Dr. Bruce Perry

Our services might be for you if…

  • You feel tense, overwhelmed, or emotionally worn down, and your body rarely gets a chance to rest.

  • You carry a lot of responsibility and self-pressure, and it’s hard to ever feel “enough.”

  • Past experiences still live in your body, showing up as anxiety, chronic pain, shutdown, or irritability.

  • A season of loss, change, or caregiving has shifted how you relate to yourself or others.

  • You feel distant from your partner, unsure about relationships, or lonely even when you’re not alone.

  • You’ve been managing on your own for a long time, and something in you is asking for support.

And you find yourself longing for…

  • A place to soften, breathe more fully, and feel safer in your body.

  • Relief from constant tension, self-criticism, or emotional exhaustion.

  • A steadier sense of yourself, beyond roles, expectations, or survival mode.

  • Deeper, more honest connection with yourself and the people who matter to you.

  • Space to move at your own pace, make sense of your experiences, and be met with care.

  • Support that feels attuned, collaborative, and deeply human.

Human-first therapy, rooted in connection.

Two Bee Human is a collective of therapists who value authentic, relational care. Each therapist brings their own approach and areas of focus, while sharing a commitment to trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, rooted in culturally responsive, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive practice.

Our therapists offer psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and couples virtually across Ontario and in-person at our cozy offices in Whitby and Bowmanville.

We aim to create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and met as whole humans.

Two Bee Human Therapy Collective represents our vision of therapy as a human endeavour deeply rooted in connection - with each other, ourselves, and nature.

WHAT “TWO BEE HUMAN” MEANS

The “Two” speaks to the importance of relationships and connection for healing. In therapy, the relationship between the therapist and those they work with has been found to be the single most important factor for healing and growth! Where trauma can be defined as the loss of connection, healing is the presence of safe connection - to ourselves, others, and the world.

The “Bee” symbolizes the importance of community and mutual care. As a collective, we offer a nourishing community for therapists to experience connection and care, so that they can offer that same connection and care to the people they support in a more sustainable way. The bee is a reminder that self-care is collective care, and vice versa. It's also a reminder of our relationship to nature and its role in healing.
